Teeth Bonding

Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered what your smile would look like without those worn down, chipped edges? These areas are not to be ashamed of! You’ve earned these chips!

Most likely opening a package or tearing off a price tag to that new shirt! However, over time these chips can grow and develop into larger chips which can cause issues for your front teeth down the road. What if we told you there was a way to correct these areas without the use of porcelain veneers or invasive dental treatment!

Dental bonding is virtually painless and can improve the appearance of your teeth in as little as one visit.

If you’re wondering what dental bonding is, it’s essentially a paste-like composite material made from a mixture of resins and fillers, which is applied directly to your tooth. Bonding resin is available in multiple colours and can be shaded to match your natural tooth colour, or you can choose a lighter colour to brighten your smile.

Dental bonding is ideal for:

  • Reshaping teeth
  • Closing the gaps between teeth
  • Repairing broken, cracked, chipped or misarranged teeth
  • Correcting discolouring in teeth
  • Filling cavities
  • Replacing amalgam or metal fillings

What can you expect from tooth bonding?

During your visit, our dentists will use a shade guide to select a bonding resin color that will closely match the color of your natural tooth. Next, your dentist will prepare the surface of the tooth to accept the bonding material by lightly etching the enamel of your tooth so the liquid will more easily adhere to the surface and provide a permanent bond.

Once the bonding liquid hardens, our dentists will sculpt the bond resin into the desired shape and size. When you are happy with the look and feel, the bonding material will be cured with a special light. After curing, the dentist will perform the final touches by trimming, smoothing and polishing the material to properly blend it to a natural look.
