Dr. Edward Gelfand is the founder of the Dawson Dental Centres where he has been practicing since 1996. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.

He has always been proud to provide up-to-date dentistry for his patients. With a special passion for cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Gelfand combines a scientific diagnosis of your smile with his precise artistic skill.

Dr. Edward Gelfand has dedicated his career to enhancing people’s lives both aesthetically and functionally.

Dr. Sabharwal is our consultant periodontist. He has completed specialty training in Periodontology and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Sabharwal is certified as a periodontist by the National Dental Examining Board of Canada and the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Sabharwal also works as an educator and researcher at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and has co-authored many publications in national and international journals.
In his spare time, Dr. Sabharwal likes to travel, read, and spend time with his family.

Dr. Nessim earned his degree from The TUFTS School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to his doctorate, Dr. Nessim earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo Egypt.

Dr. Nessim has a diversified scope of clinical background, starting in Egypt where he worked as an associate, following which he started his own practice. Upon completion of his doctorate, he practiced in the United States for one year before moving to Canada and joining the Dawson Dental team in April 2010. He is an Invisalign provider and can provide invisible braces for teens and adults.

He focuses on providing quality comprehensive patient care in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere, “everyone should be able to smile confidently” is his motto.

On the personal level Dr. Nessim is most passionate about his family, his wife and son are his key motivators. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming and reading.

Dr. Tai exudes compassion in his work and understands that for many, visits to the dentist can be overwhelming. With his easy-going, friendly nature, he likes to keep things light-hearted and fun! He truly believes that every experience at the dentist should be a positive one.

He is passionate about Invisalign for its ability to not only straighten teeth and boost confidence but restore function to the bite and preserve teeth in the long run. He also enjoys crown and bridge treatments as well as composite fillings.

Dr. Shen was born in Beijing and grew up in Montreal. She initially studied Occupational Therapy at McGill University, where she excelled in her anatomy course and received the best prosection award. While studying Occupational Therapy, Dr. Shen discovered her career aspirations in dentistry. She then went to pursue a degree in Dentistry at Laval University, Quebec City. As a top-ranked student, she enjoys practicing in a profession that combines her passion for arts and desire to promote dental health to the community. Dr. Shen still reminisces the gratification when her first patient with completed dentures held her hands and greeted her with a warm “thank you”. It was the cheery smile that epitomizes the patient-dentist relationships that Dr. Shen strives to establish. Meticulous and caring, Dr. Shen always puts her patients’ well-being first, and takes her time to explain the therapeutic options and process.

Outside of work, Dr. Shen enjoys many volunteering activities that engage a wide variety of population from children to elderly. In her free time, she also enjoys drawing, cooking, and playing a traditional Chinese music instrument called Guzheng.
