  • Authentic Appearance and Sensation: Dental implants seamlessly blend into your smile, closely mimicking the look and function of natural teeth.
  • Longevity: Designed to endure for decades, often a lifetime, making them a substantial long-term investment.
  • Enhanced Speech: Dental implants ensure proper articulation and speech clarity, unlike traditional dentures.
  • Preservation of Jawbone: They stimulate bone growth, preventing the degeneration that typically accompanies missing teeth.
  • Improved Chewing: You can enjoy your favourite foods without fear, as implants provide exceptional chewing strength.

The Dental Implant Placement Process

Dental implants embody a sophisticated and exceedingly effective solution for replacing lost teeth. The journey to a revitalized smile consists of several pivotal steps:

Initial Consultation

It all starts with a comprehensive consultation with our seasoned dental team. We’ll evaluate your oral health, engage in a discussion about your objectives, and create a tailored treatment plan.

Preparatory Procedures

In certain instances, preparatory dental implant procedures such as bone grafting may be crucial to ensure your jawbone can adequately support the implant.

Dental Implant Placement

During the surgical procedure, a skilled oral surgeon or dentist will meticulously insert the titanium implant into your jawbone, establishing the foundation for your new tooth.

Healing Period

After implant placement, a recovery period of several months is necessary. During this time, the implant unites with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration, guaranteeing stability.

Abutment Placement

Once the implant has fully integrated, an abutment is attached to the implant. This component links the implant to the ultimate crown.

Crown Placement

In the end, a dental crown, designed to blend in with your natural teeth, is firmly attached to the abutment. This crown finalizes your new tooth and restores your smile’s functionality and aesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should not get dental implants?

People with uncontrolled chronic health conditions, heavy smokers, and individuals with low jawbone density may not be suitable candidates for dental implants. Consult with your dental clinic to determine your eligibility.

How painful is getting a tooth implant?

Discomfort during a dental implant procedure is typically manageable with local anesthesia. Post-surgery, you may experience mild to moderate pain, which can be alleviated with prescribed pain medications.

At what age should you not get implants?

There’s no upper age limit for dental implants; eligibility depends on overall health rather than age. Dental implants are successfully placed in elderly patients when they meet health criteria.

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care, dental implants can last for decades or even a lifetime. They are designed to be a long-lasting solution for tooth replacement.

Do dental implants get cavities?

Dental implants themselves do not get cavities, since they are made of materials like titanium. However, it’s essential to maintain good oral hygiene to prevent gum and adjacent teeth issues.

What can go wrong with dental implants?

Possible issues related to dental implants include infection, implant failure, and peri-implantitis (gum inflammation). However, choosing a skilled dentist and following post-operative care instructions helps minimize these risks.

At what age do adults start losing teeth?

Tooth loss can occur at any age due to various factors, including decay, gum disease, and trauma. This risk increases with age, often becoming more common in older adults.

Why is my dental implant turning black?

A black or darkening dental implant may indicate potential complications such as infection or bone loss. Consult your dentist to evaluate and address the issue, as early detection is crucial for successful treatment.
