Dr. Edward Gelfand is the founder of the Dawson Dental Centres where he has been practicing since 1996. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.

He has always been proud to provide up-to-date dentistry for his patients. With a special passion for cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Gelfand combines a scientific diagnosis of your smile with his precise artistic skill.

Dr. Shieh greatly values prevention, open communication, and efficiency. He believes that no dental treatment can perform better than a patient’s natural teeth, so it is of utmost importance to maintain their natural teeth for as long as possible!

With so many dental providers to choose from and many ways that dentistry can be practiced/applied, Dr. Shieh believes that it is important to have a dental provider that has the same values as their patients and that will inform, prevent, and treat their dentition in a manner that best suits them. The dentist-patient relationship is best applied to both dentist and patient as a life-long commitment that communicates and works with each other.

Dr. Shieh’s family has a long history in dentistry as his grandparents and relatives worked in the dental field either as dentists, dental hygienists, or dental technicians. Although his parents were very open minded and wished for him to pursue whichever career he was interested in, he found himself attracted back to dentistry and passionate about dental health.

Dr. Ghassan Omera completed his dental degree in January 2004, he then moved on to finish his postgraduate studies in Periodontics followed by a Master of Research, both from Lille 2 University in Lille, France.

Dr. Omera’s education and 15 years of experience have prepared him to diagnose and treat complex periodontal cases and to place implants. He is passionate about plastic “gum” surgery and is currently focusing on periodontal cases in his practice.

Dr. Omera holds the Oral Sedation & Nitrous Oxide Sedation Certificate so he is well-equipped to put his more anxious patients at ease.

Dr. Omera enjoys working at Dawson because honesty and patient care are always the team’s top priorities. Not to mention, they have very high standards for sterilization and infection control.

Born in Syria and raised in Morocco, Dr. Omera speaks English, French, and Arabic. He is happily married with 3 children.

Dr. Mohammed enjoys challenging himself and learning something new every day. He is passionate about endodontics, specifically Root Canal Therapy because there is always something new to discover.

Dr. Mohammed believes that dentistry is an art, not just a healthcare service, and sees the results of cosmetic fillings as a representation of that. Even though he is a general dentist, he has a great passion for orthodontics – specifically Invisalign – the result is always fascinating! also, he enjoys placing implants and help his patients to get the best replacement of their missing teeth.

Dr. Mohammed believes that strong communication skills are the key to success and places great importance on the dentist/ patient relationship. He ensures that his patients are always fully informed of the treatment plans and procedures to help ease any fear or anxiety. He encourages regular check-up appointments to prevent bigger issues from developing down the road.

Fluent in English and Arabic, Dr. Mohammed was born in Baghdad where he met his wife who is a dentist practicing here in Ontario, together Dr. Mohammed and his wife have a 3-year-old son, Adam.
